Once again - Aldi has some really great deals on produce.

  • Strawberries = .99/lb
  • Whole Watermelons - seedless or seeded = $2.99/each
  • Cantaloupe = .79/each

They also have a nice sale on ice cream and sundae toppings, including .99/10 oz jar of Maraschino cherries (also great in many adult beverages!)

Aldi Deals - week of 5/31

As always, Adli comes through with some great produce deals. Many Walmart's will meet these prices, but call and ask your local manager first. Also, I've noticed that Aldi's produce is a higher quality than my local Walmart, so it's worth the extra stop.

  • 1.49 Pineapple
  • .99 Cantaloupe
  • .99 Strawberries
  • 2.99 Whole Seedless Watermelon

Don't forget - at Aldi they DO NOT accept credit cards or checks and you need to bring your own bags. Also, if you want a shopping cart, you have to rent one for .25 (you get it back when you return the cart).

Great produce deals at ALDI w/o 4/26

Do you shop at Aldi? It's not a regular stop for me, but they often will have great loss leader (read: super cheap) deals on produce and the product quality is a little better than Walmart. Here are some great deals:

  • Yellow onions - Sale .59/3 lb bag! (that's only .19/lb) - Don't forget, you can flash freeze these for futue use (see details here and here)

  • Avocados - Sale .59 each

  • Tomatoes - Sale .69/20 oz pack

  • Garden salad mix (mainly iceberg lettuce, so I probably won't buy it, but it's still a good deal) - .69/12 oz bag

  • All natural Ground Beef 73/27 - Sale $1.89/lb (good deal, but not the lowest I've seen lately)

Can you say Taco Night?? You could also make some fantastic homemade salsa and/or guacamole with this sale and freeze for future use!

Don't forget - Aldi only accepts cash or debit card AND you should bring your own bags - they charge for theirs!

Aldi - GREAT deal this week!

I'm not usually an ALDI shopper, but they've got a few really spectacular deals this week I wanted to call to your attention:

  • 10 pound bag of potatoes $1.99/bag (that's only .19/lb!)
  • 5 pound bag of red potatoes .99/bag (that's only .19/lb!)
  • 2 pound bag of red onions .69/bag (that's only .35/lb!)

These are STOCK PILE prices and are about 3/4 less than what Kroger & Meijer are charging this week for these items.

I will buy a bag of red onions, cut half of them up into "slices" and flash freeze them (put them on a cookie tray in the freezer overnight) and then put them in small baggies to store in the freezer for future use (These are great in Tortilla soup, fajitas, stews, etc.). I'll buy the potatoes, slice into "french fry" size and freeze just like the onions.

Remember that Aldi only accepts cash and debit cards (NO checks or credit cards). Prices good 3/15 thru 3/22.
