Let's Go Krogering! Week of 3/08

Well, Kroger finally came through with some improved deals on the Mega Event this week! (Lot's of stuff added, be sure to check your local ad). FYI - the Mega Event: Buy 10 items, get $5 instantly off of your total purchase, so I figure that to be .50 off each of those 10 items.

Here are some highlights that I bought today that you might be able to take adavantage of, too:
  • Cantaloupe .98 each (bought 1)

MEGA EVENT ITEMS:

  • Fiber One bars - Bought 2 boxes - Sale for $2.49 AND $1.00 e-coupon from Shortcuts AND 2/.60 off 1 box from coupons.com (print from my right side bar) AND .50 off each from Mega Deal. NET PRICE = .49 each box
  • Kelloggs Rice Krispies cereal - Bought 2 boxes - Sale for $2.49 AND 2/.70 off 1 box (not sure which Insert, it's a "Kellogg's" coupons, not for any specific cereal) AND .50 off each from Mega Deal. NET PRICE = .99 each box
  • Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks - Boguht 3 boxes - Sale for $1.99 AND 3/.50 off 1 box (2/1 SS Insert) AND .50 off each from Mega Deal. NET PRICE = .49 each box (GREAT DEAL!) (also coupons from my coupons.com side bar!!)
  • Sargento Cheese - Bought 2 packages - Sale for $1.99 AND .40 off 2 coupon (1/25 SS Insert) AND .50 off each from Mega Deal. NET PRICE = $1.09
  • Purex Detergent - Bought 1 bottle - Sale for $2.99 AND .35 off coupon (3/8 SS Insert) AND .50 off from Mega Deal. NET PRICE = $1.79 (GREAT DEAL!)

NON-Mega items:

  • Unadvertised sale: Honeysuckle fresh ground turkey breast 93/7 - Sale price $2.50 each (regular $2.99 each). I use a lot of this for chili, meatloaf, etc. Freezes really well!
  • Frank's Red Hot sauce (I'm in love with this stuff!) - FREE coupon insert (it ran in the Sunday ads within the last three weeks, but I can't remember which week, sorry!)
  • 5 lb bag of large organic carrots - $2.99 (great price if you're willing to peel your own carrots!)
  • Kroger whole grain, high-fiber bread - $2.00/loaf
  • Quaker Rice Cakes (part of Mega event, but I only bought one) - $1.00 (there's a coupon from the 1/18 RP insert which would make these free, but I already used mine during the last sale).

All-in-all, I bought 18 items (all listed above)...

Total spent OOP = $20.30

Total saved = $35.70

That's a savings of 64%!!
