Walgreens - WOW! Deals for week of 3/08

OK, I'm so excited about the sale that starts tomorrow at Walgreen's that I had a hard time going to sleep last night (that's kinda pathetic, I know. But it's true.).

First off, for a sneak peek at the ad that starts tomorrow, click HERE (thanks to Hot Coupon World).

Second, don't forget to pick up your EasySaver booklet (the brochure-like booklet at the front of the store with the weekly ads, it has TONS of coupons and rebates in it).

Third, get ready for some GREAT freebies and "cheapies"! Here are the deals I'm most excited about:

  • Colgate Total Advanced @ $3.49. COUPONS AVAILABLE: $2.50 IVC (that's in the monthly booklet, pg. 23) AND $1 Printable here NET PRICE = FREE
  • Coffee-Mate Liquid Creamer 16 oz BOGO FREE @ $2.49. COUPONS AVAILABLE: $.50 in the 1/4 SS Insert (exp 4/5) AND $1.00 & $1.50 Printable here Net Price = .25 each (use 2 coupons)
  • Garnier Fructis Hair Care @$2.99. COUPONS AVAILABLE: $2.00 IVC (that's in the monthly booklet, pg. 18) AND In-ad coupons for $1 off (1/4 SS, & I've heard one will be released tomorrow) Net Price = FREE
  • Buy $25 worth and get $10 RR. (There are several items on this list, but I'm only including a few here - check the ad for more that you might like) Products include Huggies & Kotex:
  • Huggies Diapers or Training Pants Jumbo Pack @ $10. COUPONS AVAILABLE: $5 and $3 from my coupons.com links in the right side bar and the bottom of my site (these have been reset, so if you've already printed these, you can now print more!) AND $1.50 (3/1 SS) AND the .75 rebate from the Caregivers marketplace. CHEAP DIAPERS FRIENDS!
  • Kotex Feminine Care @ $3. COUPONS AVAILABLE: $1 and $.75 (2/22 SS)

  • Orbit & Eclipse Gum @.66. COUPONS AVAILABLE: $1 on three IVC (that's the monthly booklet, pg. 6). NET PRICE = .33 EACH
  • Smart Balance Buttery Spread BOGO Free @ $2.99 COUPONS AVAILABLE: $1 off 2 & $1 off 1 (RP 2/1) AND Free sticks with tub purchase (3/1 Ad). (I'm not sure if my store carries the sticks, but I'll check). NET PRICE = .99 each (this is a good deal for us, as this is the only kind of "butter" my son is able to eat due to food allergies)
  • Centrum Multi-vitamins @ $4.49 for 50ct - 60 ct. COUPONS AVAILABLE: several $3 (1/4 RP) NET PRICE = $1.49
  • Jordana Lip or Eye pencils @ 2/$1 - I used to use only expensive lip pencils, but you know what? The generics usually work just as well for about 1/20 the price! I'll try these and let you know what I think (as I love makeup, I'll consider myself an expert for this trial experiment!)

I'll be heading over to Wags right after church and I suggest you go early for some of these deals...they are going to sell out FAST!

Here's another tip - ask your store when they get their trucks. My store gets deliveries on Saturdays and Wednesdays...so if they're sold out of something on Monday or Tuesday, they will often restock on Wednesday afternoon.

Walgreens - some great deals 3/01

OK, so I'm a little late posting these this week, but there's still plenty of time to advantage of these great deals! I haven't noticed some of these on the other blogs, so hopefully, you'll find some pleasant surprises here...

  • Tide 20 to 40 load sale $5.99 (including HE) plus $1 RR plus several coupons out there (I had a $1 off coupon, which is rare...I got it by ordering a free sample. Lesson learned...always order those free sample as they usually come with very high value coupons that are not found in the Sunday inserts). NET PRICE = $3.99
  • Nivea Lip balm (moisturizing & lightly tinted - this is good stuff!) - regular price $2.99, In-ad coupon $1 off, $1 coupon in the Sunday insert before Valentine's day $1 off. NET PRICE = .99
  • Vaseline Intensive Care lotion sale 25% off. I bought the 210 ml size (medium sized) which was on sale from $3.59 down to $2.69, there have been several $1.50 off coupons over the last month and there is a $2 RR offer this week. NET PRICE = .81 PROFIT (2.69 - 1.50 + 2.00)
  • Reach Prevent toothbrush = regular price is $1.79. In-ad coupon makes the cost $1; there was a $1.00 off Reach toothbrushes in the Sunday ad two weeks ago. NET PRICE = FREE

My bottom line today -

  • I bought: Tide detergent 32 load; 2 Nivea lip balms; Vaseline Intensive Care lotion 210 ml
  • I spent $8.95 oop
  • I saved $10.40
  • I earned $3 in RR to spend next week.

Thanks again to Laura P. for the great tips on these deals!

Let's Go Krogering! Week of 3/01/09

This is my first trip to Kroger for the week...I'll be heading back to pick up a prescription (free $25!) and a few other things.

I got some great deals today...here are some highlights that you can take advantage of, too...

    • Quaker Instant oatmeal - this sale includes all of the Quaker instant oatmeal, including the High Fiber (my favorite). Many of the boxes are specially marked with $4 additional coupons inside! SALE PRICE 2 for $3 (limit two boxes) plus .70 off one box coupons in the 1/4 insert, which double to $1 off/ box. I had two coupons, so my total NET PRICE = only .50/box!
    • Strawberries $1.28/lb
    • Seedless grapes .97/lb
    • Curious George Fruit snacks $1.00/box
    • Minute Rice ready-to-serve cups (my son's fave food. Yes, really.) sale for $1.78 and I had a .70 coupon (doubled to $1) NET PRICE = .78
    • Nature's Bounty vitamins - Sale Buy one get one free, plus there have been several $1 off coupons lately (and on their website). I got two 100 count calcium $4.69 each, BOGO = $2.35 each, 2 $1 coupons NET PRICE = $1.35 each (thanks Laura P. for the tip) They also have kid's gummie bear vitamins - Spider man themed as part of the BOGO deal.
    • Pillsbury refrigerated "dough" items (breads, rolls, biscuits and cookies) have a special running now through 3/22 that wasn't listed in this week's ad - Most are on sale AND if you purchase any 4, you'll receive a coupon for $1.50 off your next Kroger purchase. Don't forget there have been LOTS of Pillsbury coupons in the Sunday ads over the last two weeks (and in the 1/4 insert), many packages of cookie dough have "peelies", there are some deals on Shortcuts (electronic coupons) and some printables from my coupons.com link at the bottom of my web page (thanks for supporting my site by printing from here!). Combine the sale, the coupons and the Shortcuts coupons and you're looking at some VERY cheap refrigerated dough! (Thanks to my girl Laura P for the heads-up).
    • I also bought lots of "special" allergy-free food for my son (about $10 worth of his "must-haves", allergy-free food). For other families who buy lots of "special" foods, please note, there is a deal on Rice Dream Rice Milk - the large cartons are $4.69 (not a great price) but if you buy 3 you get $1 coupon off your next grocery order and there are "peelies" on several of the cartons for $1 off 4 cartons. Since this "must have" rarely goes on sale, I thought I'd add this for those who need it.

    All in all, I spent $29.96 for $56.53 worth of groceries - that's a savings of $26.57!

Don't forget to bring your own bags from home for an additional discount - I saved .27 today this way.

Be sure to check out the other Kroger deals at The New Frugal Mom's blog! She's always got lots of great deals listed...

    FREE $25 at Kroger

Remember my post a few days ago about earning money by getting your prescriptions transferred? There's another great deal out right now...here are the details:

"Transfer your prescription to KROGER and receive $25 in FREE groceries!"

    • They will allow one transfer per household (this is different than some offers with other stores, that allow one transfer per patient)

    • $25 credit will go on your Kroger Plus card (it will work like an electronic coupon, with the $25 coming off of your total as you check out)

    • Have your Plus card with you when you pick up the prescription and BE SURE to mention that you want the $25 credit on your Plus card.

    • Not valid on transfers from other Kroger stores (I'll be transferring a script back to Kroger from Walgreens, which I transferred to take advantage of the $25 offer Wags had last month!)

    • Expires March 31, 2009

    • Also - Kroger is offering generic scripts at a great price - $10 for a 3 month supply (that's a $2 savings over getting the script filled for $4 for 30 day supply)

FREE $25 at Kroger is a fantastic deal! Take full advantage while the offer is available...I'm waiting for one to come out from CVS (it's their turn, isn't it?)
